Hi, i just wanted to know what kind new ORIGINAL type of maps you would like to see. Not just a normal AOS, normal RPG, normal Defense, etc, etc. Think of a new type that you haven't seen before in any of the maps you've played or just a type of map you just wanted and is waiting to see. :D |

At the moment, I would really like to see someone start making a cool shoot-them-up map (yes, I'm excited about this after Ant posted his Flying of the Dead). You would have to be a good triggerer to try to do something like that, though, because practically the entire gameplay must be triggered. |

Hmm... indeed. I had a map kinda like that, 4 player contest as to who could get the most points from kills in the time allowed, but repeated power problems to my computer screwed the map up badly. It still runs, but it's littered with problems. |

And financial games, how could I forget that. Fisherman's quest seems to be a quite promising example of that. Warcraft still has tons of potential, it's not just new and original concepts, there is also many ways to interpret the already established genres, which is what I try to do (although I don't do it with an intention of being revolutional, I just look for things I think would be fascinating if I added them to (or removed from) the genre). |

ok for me i want to see these kind of games. a sim city style. (i've just started to trigger this and got the demand/tax/income/expenses already working. :D) yah, i also wanted to see ant's FOTD with more features. (i liked it if it was done with a campaign or you had a mission. even if it was single player. :D) a one hit kill person in a spy game thingy. other things later... PS. Anitarf, because you said the fisherman's quest, there is also another called "A farmer's life". |

What about a Civilization styled WarCraft. I imagine Orcish barbarians (grunts, beastmasters) in the stone age up to space-orcs and the starcraft units in future ages. You could implement technologies to research like religion (light or shadow), the wheel, steam machine, gunpowder, etc pp I think it would be very much work to trigger everything, but a good result is maybe worth the work. |

One genre i'd love to see advancements in is the city builders, the best example being Norbos War (Genesis of Empires). Lotsa fun depth, as well a massive amount of potential. I actually pondered tackling it myself, sorta based on Rise of Nations (separate cities eahc with own economy) and had tinkered with a graphic sphere of influence thing. With the new terrain triggers might be fun to revisit that project (dynamic terrian altering be cool for stuff like expanding crops and urban sprawl) |

one more thing i would like to see is a complete remake of ff tactics, well the triggers are not that hard but hey, i guess it will be fun to play. ppl please keep posting your ideas. it will be so much help to all those map makers out there. :D |

Whoever said they want to see Tetris, I know someone who made Tetris. Except he called it Vextris because of his name. Works just like Tetris and is very cool. I'd attach but after getting a new hard drive I lost it. If he still has it I'll try to get it up here. Personally, I'd like to see a Hero Arena with heroes that all have triggered/really awesome spells. I've always thought about making one, even terrained one, but never got around too it. Would probably bring the entire genre back if someone did an awesome job. Right now, I'm making a Swordsman Tactics map, where it's like Archery Tactics but with Swordsmen. And you run around and press 'A' to attack. It's quite neat imo. I guess that would fit into a new unusually catagory. I'd also like to see some singleplayer maps(I've been thinking about doing this as a side) that kind of resemble gameplay similar to 'The Crimson Room', which is a flash game that you could find by google searching. It's basicly looking around, finding items and solving certain puzzles to escape somewhere. |

I would like to begin by saying that there actually IS a tetris map for war3. In fact, it was out before TFT. A friend showed it to me, but I have no idea where to get it. Now it's time to reveal Ant's database of never implemented ideas, half implemented ideas, and badly implemented ideas. First, the shoot em up. Like time crisis II, point blank, that kinda thing. This actually has the longest history, I think the idea came up around 2 years back, but I don't believe there was a single map released that implemented the ideas well. The latest, I think, is Shooting of the dead a few months back (another one of the dead maps by me -.-) which was a prime example of very little content stuffed over a long period of time. But I think that proved that it takes a lot of triggering to come up with not much content in shoot em up games. I guess if you simplify everything into one camera and make every look through one camera it'll be fine, and also it'll be much better if everything only takes one shot to kill, so your fingers don't get sore. I wasted the first half year of my worldediting life experimenting with failed shoot em ups. There was an incomplete thing I did on shoot em ups about one and a half years back, it was like standard RPG over the top view, with talking and all, except every "random encounter" would take you to a mini time crisis II like game, and you could buy abilities which you would have to click a point on to take effect, and you would have to shooy manually. So it's like an RPG, except different combat system. After that I tried over the top view combat games (I don't know how to describe them). I think recently there was a map called Contra released, which was a bit too messy IMHO. I tried something like zelda: A link to the past that kinda thing too. It didn't work well, but I think it's possible to implement well, it shouldn't be too hard. Sidescrolling, platform games, the idea has been going around for some time but no one actually did it. I experimented a bit with it also and I think it's very possible to do well. I've got the concept in my head for a fighting game, but I never got down to trying it, so I don't know how possible it is. It's, well, a fighting game. Yah. And I also released "The typing of the dead", which was a bit buggy, but is a good idea i think. I came up with a small version which doesn't require you to press enter (but only 12 item keys can be pressed. Good for working on vocabulary and seeing how many words you can come up with only 12 letters) and isn't buggy, and has floating text, but past 1 player it got buggy. I would love to see this done :D well I have a few more but I can't recall them... oh well. |

I believe the tetris game is WoP's Tetris or something like that. I've tryed to make a zelda map before, and it isn't that easy. I was planning on giving your guy abilities for each special item he has (hookshot, bow, etc.) but they would be triggered to only allow three at a time. I thought that concept was interesting. I've also been attempting a "Virtual Pet Simulator" in the last few days, the idea is to buy a pet from the pet shop and play with it, care for it, feed it, etc. But its proving pretty hard, although its a concept I'd like to see realized some day. |
