Getting Models into Wc3 using 3dsmax or Maya

Hey everybody, I'm really new to modding Wc3 but I'm learning a lot quickly. I just figured out how to get downloaded .mdx files into the game (MUCH thanks to Whitehorn's tutorials). I want to take the next step and put my own fully animated models into the game for a Star Wars mod. Plus, I'm anxious to share my models with everybody on here. I'm well versed in Maya and 3dsmax, but I don't know exactly how to get .mdl or .mdx files from them. Any help would be much appreciated.

There is a WarcraftIII ArtTools that might be able to do it.

Maybe this is a FAQ.. maybe I said too much....

You need 3d studio Max version 5 and the Blizzard Art Tools. Then you can export as an .mdx file.

You have to bear in mind that Blizzard models have their own material type, freaky animation controllers and particle systems. If yuo have any specific questions regarding these, ask away!

Ha ha. Thanks guys, but I was hoping there was another option other than the Art Tools. You see, I am using 3dsmax 8. Oh well, I guess the only thing to do now is aquire 3dsmax 5 so I can use the Art Tools. I appreciate the help guys. Hopefully this works out so I can show you guys the slick modeling skills. :)

Eek. Honestly I don't even think Dex works with 8. Get 5 :P
