Is it not possibly to have a selectable race in campaign maps at the start of the map? I've tried setting "selectable" under player 1 properties but it doesn't do anything... |

Here is what you could do: before the start give one map button for each selectable race. name each map button the name of that race. for each of these maps. have some trigger to save to the game cache what race they selected and turn off the map buttons for the races and turn on mission one. You can make a map that will reset the entire campaign back to like it was when they first played where they select the race. if you do this make sure it deletes the game cache for the campaign. I hope this helps. |

But if your doing a campaign and using a campaign screen, you cannot have four seperate maps as your "next map" on the campaign screen. |

You can make the first map a "dummy map" where you select the race somehow. Then save the selected choice in gamecache, and load from it in the next campaign missions, so you can see what type of units to create. |

Yah but I want you to be able to choose your desired race in any of the RTS levels, so your not stuck as one. |

You could go to this race selection map in between each map? |

Hm what your suggesting is this for example. Create a dummy map before each RTS level, but just make the campaign buttom/title the name of my next actual map... But when you click hat buttom, it loads the dummy map, you select your race. Then it loads up the actual map with your racial specifications. This is your suggestion then? That sounds like it may just work quite well! |

What method can I use of selection in terms of just a big menu with 4 buttons in my dummy map? Kinda like a big menu that appears as soon as the dummy map is loaded and has 1 button for each race. |

Are you talking about dialog menus? Here's a link to the tutorial in case you need any help with them. Those would work well. http://www.wc3campaigns.net/showthread.php?t=84601 |
