Custom Trees: Problems...

Hello!
As we all know, the ingame war3 tree models are very simple, one might say crappy, so I wanted to replace them with own models.
As base, I used Chriz.' Evertree model (thanks and credits to him from here) and made 10 variations. I imported them in the WE and changed the path to the original LordSum trees, unchecked "has light weight model" and it worked:

But now I wanted to change the skin to have e.g. a winter version, but that doesn't seem to be possible: if I import a new skin replacing the old one, it just shows nothing where the skin should be, look here:

Changing the skin path in the models and importing the skin with a corresponding path I get the same result.

Any ideas what I could try?
Thanks for help,
Waldbaer

You sure the skin has the right alpha channel? That might be the cause, at leastm going by that picture

Yes, the skin is correct, I checked it more than once in war3viewer and it should work. It's only a test skin, but if you want to test it, too, get it from the attachment.

I guess the base skin is a palleted blp, and you converted it to normal blp, thus losing the alpha channel. Wc3viewer still shows them.

What does that mean, "palletted" BLP?
Does it use an external color pallette?
And the alpha channel itself is correct, I think. This is how it looks in Magos' Model Editor:

I think you have to worry about other things right now. Your winter skin is terrible. One might say blizzard did a better job than you.

Don't post, if you can't read. I never said that this is my ready skin, I just took a white brush and rushed over the original skin, that's all.
I didn't make a real skin yet because I fear that it doesn't work anyways and why should I make a skin that doesn't work?!

It seems that nobody has ideas or experiences with this issue until now... really a weird thing, isn't it?
And I still don't know what is a "paletted BLP" - can someone explain it to me, please?

EDIT: By some try and error, I now suddenly got it to work in my test map. Even I myself don't have any idea how I did it. If I find it out, I'll post here again.
