Items and abilities ideas please!!!

Hi:

One of the purpose of releasing BETA D is to get ideas about what custom items could we add to each race and what abilities could we set to the semihero units.

About the items: Naga race must have enchantments related with magic and water, Demon items are more focused on weaponry. Additionally, those items should follow this "classification":

tier 1: up to 4 items which improve allied units only.
tier 2: 1 item, the other 2 are the famous healing and mana potions.
tier 3: up to 3 booster hero items.

About the semiheroes, well, the idea is to give interesting abilities to those units:



Both of them have 4 abilities, and for BETA E those heroes will increase their hitpoints and mana by 50 every 10 killed units. Ideas for those units are more than welcome.

Tier 2 item...:
Illusion Generator
Create illusions of all units in the target area which deal 20% damage and take 150% damage (50% damage bonus). Lasts 30 seconds. 1 Charge.

The purpose of this item is that a small army can still be devestating or make the opponents think which is real and which is not. (Assuming that the Illusion effect is created then the two units appear (1 real 1 illusion)

tier 3 item:
Hidrosian Pendant
- When the hero carrying this item is not in combat and is standing still (there should be a coded detection system knowing when a hero is idle for at least 1-2 seconds), the hero gets an increased hp regeneration. the effect wears off once the hero moves or is attacked. this is great for microing because you can run off and heal for a few seconds and jump back into combat as long as you can run far enough from enemy fire of course. this item is exclusive to the nagas of course.

tier 1 item:
Scroll of Water Scales
- When used, gives every allied unit in the area Water Scales which grants bonus 1 armor and gives a % chance for units to miss when attacking units with the Water Scales buff. I'm not sure if this is already an upgrade for the Naga. If so, just ignore this item.

hmmm, not bad... for what race do you consider it appropriate?? for Naga??

Illusion, generator for Demon IMO.

For the classic potions.... prehaps this idea might spark them up abit.

Healing Potion
Heals 100 + 0.5 * the difference of you current hp and your max hp.

Mana Potion
Restores 50 + 0.5 * the difference of you current mp and your max mp.

The Potion idea looks good, but i think that they should be seperate items provided by the goblin merchants if not used the replace the classic potions.

that customized potion sounds interesting. wc3's potions are effective, but boring. this will spice it up :)

Right now, I need to know which race we're going for. However, I could post ideas for both and maybe that would help in deciding upon which race to use. I'm busy atm so when I have more time, I'll put up some ideas.

My bad, edited my post =P Hmm, for a crypt lord like hero, his abilities could be something like.

Dig: The hero digs underground, creating a tunnel underneath him wherever he goes. Friendly units can climb into the tunnel and wherever the hero comes out, that's the exit. This ability is a activatable/togglable ability where, once you cast it, you dig underground and you can keep moving around to create a tunnel path. However, while the crypt lord is digging, he drains mana every second. It is up to Moyack however, to decide how long the tunnel will last and what will happen to units that get stuck underground. Dig will also need to have a huge cooldown to prevent spammage.
Level1: Max tunnel range of 1000. Costs 20 mana per second.
Level2: Max tunnel range of 1500. Costs 25 mana per second.
Level3: Max tunnel range of 2000. Costs 30 mana per second.

Gaian Essence (Ultimate). Transforms the hero into its "super form." While digging, every unit above the hero's tunnel path will be damaged every second by its ethereal spikes. Also increases the hero's regen greatly.

I don't have too many ideas so bear with me.

Scroll of Demonkin (Demon)
Item AoE
When used all Demon units in X range have extremely fast attack, but the more they attack, the slower their attack becomes. Their attack can even become slower then before the scroll was used if they attack enough. After Y seconds their attack speed is reset over another Z seconds.

another idea for a hero spell is the same as the above spell cept that instead of speed you use attack and instead of an AoE item spell it's a self cast hero spell

The Demon Spirit (Demon)
Hero Self Cast
When used, if an enemy unit attacks the hero within X seconds from the when the hero casts the spell, the attacker is haunted by a demonic spirit, and is damaged every Y seconds. The spirit is dispersed when the X seconds are up.

Slippery (Naga)
Single Target
The unit/hero that this is cast on will not walk, but slide. Will move further then where ordered to move to and will be damaged if it crashes into buildings/cliffs. Expires after X seconds.

The Naga's Secret (Naga)
Item AoE
When used, this item heals all Naga in range for X health, BUT it will also heal Demon for Y(Probably X/2) health so use cautiously.

well, Lord of Darkness has an ability that does a similar thing, kills an allied unit and he will gain bonus damage according of its percentage hitpoints of the victim unit. but this ability could be applied to the semihero Demon.... ohhh yes, that's a good idea :)

I'd add a chance that the demonic spirit gets casted on the unit or set the "shield" duration for a short time... sounds nice :)

This ability could be used as a escape ability... now the question is: which unit will take more profit of this ability?

Actually we have a healing ability for Naga... but the idea can be tweaked... Water wave: a lesser AOE item ability for tier 3. Heals by 50 hitpoints to allied units and damages by 15 hitpoints enemy units in the range of effect.

Well, I dunno if you're still looking for ideas or not but...

Rescue Scepter
Swaps places with target friendly unit, that unit will slowly heal over time.

And for the inverse...

Rip Scepter
Swaps places with target enemy unit, that unit will take damage over time.

Equality Key
All damage between nearby units is redistributed evenly amongst them.

Vicious Hunger
All nearby melee units gain 5% movement speed whenever they strike an enemy. Each strike stacks.

Gem of Promise
If a spell is cast on this hero, the caster of that spell will receive the same spell.

Staff of Massacre
Magnifies the hero's next non-ultimate spell. Magnified spells will call upon nearby allied magical units, causing them to cast the same spell at the same or nearby appropriate target.

Staff of Idols
Creates a ghost of this hero. The ghost has infinite mana and can walk through other units. The ghost may cancel its life to teleport the hero.

Blind Sight
Nearby invisible units are dealt X damage and become Y% slower in movement.

Megrim Stone
Demon item, passive self

Pus-colored translucent stone with black cloud-like imperfections. When the item-holder attacks an organic enemy, there is a chance it may give the enemy a short Megrim, a mind-boggling headache. Megrim disables the enemy's non-standard abilities (standard are usually move, attack, hold position, patrol) and rapidly depletes mana (but does not "burn" it, ie cause hp damage).

Nether Cell
Demon item, active target

Jagged hunk of wicked purple crystal from the Twisting Nether. When the item-holder uses its ability on a severely wounded organic non-hero enemy, the target is imprisoned by the item. While imprisoned, the unit succumbs to infernal influence. When the item's cooldown resets and the corruption is complete, the item-holder may summon the imprisoned unit (or some demonic variant) and free the Nether Cell for its next victim.

Titan Plate
Either item, passive self & area
A scorched plate of bronze, a small piece of skin or armor from Sargeras The Betrayer. Enhances the item-holder's armor and spell-resistance, while damaging nearby enemies with Immolation (either activated or passive).
