Challenge: Atlantis

Challenge Description:

I thought of this challenge when I was making a map for CaQT. I would like that you guys replicate the famous Atlantis as you imagine it. Everything from ruins under water to a city above water counts. You don't have to stick to concentric circles as described in the legend and the city can be a low tech town, a magical citadel or a modern metropolis, whatever your imagination allows.

Rules:
1. NO FLAMING. This goes without saying.
2. Minimum of one (1) screenshot per participant.
3. Custom models are allowed if link for their download is provided in this thread

Participants:
- Grey Archon (17 Screenshots)

(I also intend to run later on)

End Date: 8. 10. 2004

Let the challenge begin!

I've decided to make Atlantis as how it was before it disappeared beneath the waves. Here is a preview of my progress.

Looks good. What I think might make it look good is to somehow hide the 90 degree drop in the raised terrain, maybe use a big oblisk, it just looks kinda globish and has a bad effect the other way. But alot of people use it so I guess I'm the only one who thinks that way.

Thank you. But when I'm done with it, it's covered with so much stepping stones, vegetation, lightsources, units and housing, that it's hardly recogniseable as a 90 degree drop anymore. ^_^

Even so, my Atlantis does consist out of an outer circle, an inner circle, and a core. It's my view, my representation, and that's just what the challenge was.

Thanks! ^_^
I would, but it's not mine. You can, however, extract it from this map:
http://www.wc3sear.ch/index.php?p=Maps&ID=1323&sid=

Or, even faster, download it directly from Pyrokinesis's post in this thread:

I really think its cool but I don't like how you mixed cityscape with ruins, I think if you tint the white stuff yellow-ish it'll make it like 100x better.

Well you see, you're right of course, but my first idea was to make Atlantis accustomized to the tides of the ocean.. At flood, the middle area would stay clear, while the yellow rocked area would have the waves rolling over the tiles. Hencewhy the coloration of the rocks and the sculptures... and why all the houses are so way high up.

The thought didn't come out as nice as I planned it, however.

I'm sure you'll have that effect even if you tint the city tileset doodads, I mean you can just change it so its 0 green 255 red 255 yellow and see how it looks.

Ooh, you didn't mean the tileset? I thought you meant changing the color of the 'White Marble' tile.
